Our Story

Since January of 2010, our shelter has been rescuing abandoned dogs and cats and placing them in permanent homes. To-date, we have rescued over 1,000 animals from both abandonment and high-kill shelters.

When we commit to rescuing pets, we make sure that they are well cared for and given the proper medical attention. The pets then receive training prior to adoption. In order to ensure the perfect match, we require home visits and references for all potential new pet owners.

FAQ

How can I help?

We welcome anyone who wants to help out! Check out our Get Involved page to see more details about how you can adopt, volunteer or donate to our organization.

Who can be a reference?

Anyone that knows you well can be a reference! You will be asked to supply an email address and phone number, and we will contact one or more for a brief interview.

What's the home inspection like?

One of our staff members will schedule a time to visit your home. He or she will ensure that you have adequate space for a pet, and may ask questions about your home.

How much is the adoption fee?

The adoption fee is $200, and there are no exceptions. The fee acts as a donation and keeps the shelter operational. We also devote a budget to the animals' well-being.

Can I come in to see the pets?

You are free to come by and visit, but we prefer when appointments are made in advance. Contact us to speak with a staff member about scheduling an appointment.

Are all the pets trained?

Absolutely! Once the pets are rehabilitated, they begin a training program to prepare them for their new home. You can direct any questions to info@bedford-demo.com.
